Burlington and the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation will welcome the FIFA World Cup 2026™ to the region this July
Regional Tourism Organization 3 (RTO3) is celebrating a milestone for the region, with two of its sub-regions — Halton and Brant — selected as official stops on Canada Celebrates the FIFA World Cup 2026™, FIFA’s countrywide fan programme.
The Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation will host a Canada Celebrates stop on 7 July, followed by Burlington on 9 July. Together, the two stops place the Hamilton-Halton-Brant region firmly on the national tournament map and bring the energy, pride and passion of the world’s biggest sporting event directly to local communities — well beyond the Host Cities of Toronto and Vancouver.
About Canada Celebrates
Canada Celebrates is a first-of-its-kind programme travelling from coast to coast to coast, with 38 stops across 34 communities. The tour reaches within a two-hour drive of more than 75% of Canadian residents, spanning every province and one territory. It runs throughout the tournament from 11 June to 19 July, with pre-tournament stops on 1 June and 5 June.
At each stop, Canada Celebrates brings fans together for live match viewings, football-themed activations, cultural programming, music, food and moments of national pride. The programme is supported by FIFA Commercial Partners Coca-Cola, Kia, Michelob Ultra, Hisense, McDonald’s and The Home Depot, along with Media Partner Bell Media. Stop-specific programming details will be released in the coming weeks.
The FIFA World Cup 2026™ will be the largest sporting event ever staged, co-hosted by Canada, Mexico and the United States across 16 Host Cities, with 48 teams and 104 matches.
