Tourism is an essential driver of Hamilton Halton Brant’s economy, culture, and identity. From breathtaking outdoor landscapes to rich heritage, vibrant arts, diverse culinary experiences, and multicultural communities, our destinations offer something truly special for visitors from near and far.
As travel demand evolves, we have a unique opportunity to not only recover but to redefine our region as a must-visit destination.
To chart this course, RTO3 has launched a new 3-Year Strategic Plan for Regional Tourism Development, a forward-looking roadmap designed to elevate our regional tourism economy.
A Collaborative Approach to a Stronger Tourism Future
This strategy is the result of extensive collaboration with stakeholders across Hamilton, Halton (Oakville, Burlington, Halton Hills, Milton), the County of Brant, Brantford, Six Nations of the Grand River, and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. Together, we have set a bold direction for the future, grounded in a shared vision and commitment to strengthening our regional tourism ecosystem.
Four Strategic Priorities
To drive impact and foster sustainable growth, the plan is organized into four key areas:
•Relationship Development & Communications – Strengthening connections and collaboration with partners to enhance our region’s visitor experience.
•Leadership & Representation – Advocating for the needs and priorities of our diverse destinations both locally and beyond.
•Ecosystem Development & Value Co-Creation – Working together to maximize tourism’s economic and social benefits.
•Resource Management – Ensuring RTO3 remains a resilient and responsive organization that effectively serves our stakeholders.
This plan isn’t just about strategy—it’s about action. We’ve identified 23 strategic actions that will guide our efforts and create opportunities for tourism businesses, communities, and stakeholders to thrive.
