RTO3’s Regional Industry Exchanges are bi-annual events designed to facilitate networking, information sharing, and collaboration among tourism operators in the Hamilton Halton Brant region. These Exchanges include:

Tourism Updates: Stay informed on regional and provincial developments impacting the industry.

Industry Education and Training: Learn about best practices, emerging trends, and marketing strategies.

2024/25 Sustainable Tourism Learning Series

RTO3 has launched our 2024/25 Sustainable Tourism Learning Series (STLS), featuring in-person events and a new library of resources, online materials and training programs centered on sustainable tourism practices. Tapping into the expertise of our Destination Sustainability Officer, Hamid Dwyer, we will be presenting a convenient curriculum of online training, webinars, resources to support our industry in becoming more sustainable. Our Bi-annual Industry Exchanges in Fall and Spring will provide stakeholders with an opportunity to come together, network, learn and share in their journey. This is your opportunity to learn how to implement sustainable tourism practices in your operations and become a leader in our region’s sustainability efforts.

FALL 2025 Industry Exchange 

The Fall 2025 Industry Exchange will explore how tourism operators and event professionals can create meaningful, sustainable gatherings that benefit communities, reduce environmental impact, and enhance visitor experiences. This event is part of the Sustainable Tourism Learning Series and features expert insights, real-world case studies, and actionable strategies.

We will also welcome Natalie Lowe, co-founder of The Sustainable Events Forum, that will present on Greener Gatherings: Sustainable Events for Tourism and Community Impact – a keynote on integrating sustainability into tourism events 

In 2018, Natalie co-founded The Sustainable Events Forum (TSEF), a platform dedicated to educating and empowering event professionals to integrate sustainable practices into their work. Under her leadership, TSEF has grown into a recognized authority in the field, hosting initiatives like “Earth Day for Event People” and offering resources to help planners reduce their environmental impact.

A certified Meeting Manager (CMM) and Climate Reality Leader (CRL), Natalie combines her extensive industry knowledge with a commitment to environmental stewardship. She is a sought-after speaker and educator, sharing her insights on sustainable event planning at conferences and workshops across North America.
